Cutchins Family Mortuary & Cremations
May 1, 2020
Nationwide there are over 1.4 million cases and over 88,144 deaths from the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) with 259,000 recovered. Governor Roy Cooper has issued a "Stay at Home" proclamation for our entire state. Funeral Service employees are considered "Essential Workers". That means that in times of peril and national emergencies we are expected (We are Honored) to continue to provide our "essential service" to our community. We ask that you assist us in keeping our community as safe as humanly possible by following safety precautions that we are enacting beginning Saturday, May 2, 2020:
Only graveside and cremation services will be available (No Church services. It’s much too difficult for churches to sanitize such large facilities). There will be no chairs at graveside except for family members who are physically challenged; in essence as little as possible for the virus to attach. Gatherings will be limited to 50 people only with "service passes" distributed by the immediate family. Those without a pass will be required to return to their vehicles. Those remaining will be instructed to practice strict social distancing by the Funeral Home Staff.
No home set-ups (Limited to door badge, street sign, register stand & register book, which few should be signing).
Family/Public viewing at the funeral home (Limited to only ten people at a time, including staff members). Please cooperate and follow staff instructions.
Funeral arrangements and consultations shall be limited to three people.
Limousine services are currently suspended. We will still lead you to graveside services.
No Repast: Employee will not attend. You are on your own.
We have a professional and moral obligation to serve and protect our community. We are here ready to do our civic duty - BUT please treat this COVID-19 with the utmost respect and caution. This virus can KILL you. These precautions are simply an effort to save your lives, as well as protect our staff, and they will not be lifted until a vaccine is found to better protect all of us. Please know that we love you and wish you "Good Health". STAY AT HOME!!! Practice Hand-Washing and Social Distancing of six feet. NO HAND-SHAKING and NO HUGGING. It's a NEW day - we must live a NEW way.
